Crossover Images Ambitious New Series Lands a Walking Dead Homage Variant Cover
Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw's Crossover #1 has received a limited edition Walking Dead homage variant cover by Ryan Ottley.
The first issue of Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw's highly-anticipated Image Comics series Crossover has received a Walking Dead homage variant cover courtesy of Amazing Spider-Man artist Ryan Ottley.
Revealed on Twitter by Stadium Comics, Ottley's Crossover #1 variant pays tribute to artist Tony Moore's iconic cover from 2003's The Walking Dead #1 by Robert Kirkman and Moore, a comic that not only spawned an additional 192 issues, but also multiple AMC television shows, with a trilogy of films on the way as well. Ottley's Crossover virgin (textless) variant honoring TWD is a Stadium Comics exclusive, and will be limited to 500 copies.
Written by Cates and illustrated by Shaw, Crossover serves as a self-aware commentary on the comic book crossover events frequently published by major publishers like Marvel and DC, as well as the comic book medium as a whole. It is slated to launch from Image Comics early next month.
Written by Donny Cates and illustrated by Geoff Shaw with colors by Dee Cunniffe and letters by John J. Hill, Crossover #1 goes on sale Nov. 4 from Image Comics.
