Lauren Cohan could be leaving The Walking Dead behind, as she's officially signed on for a new television pilot after fielding various offers this pilot season.

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that series regular Lauren Cohan -- who joined the show in its second season -- had yet to sign on for the previously announced ninth season. Now, it appears the actor has begun to consider her future without the hit series, as she has signed on for the ABC pilot Whiskey Cavalier, a show described as a "high-octane hour-long action dramedy."

According to Variety, Cohan still does not have a contract to return for Season 9 of The Walking Dead, despite being in negotiations with the network for months now. Previous reports suggested she had been battling for a bump in pay to meet that of her male co-stars Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus. At the time, it was said the network had countered her demands and opted to give her a "modest bump in pay." While it's entirely possible the actress and AMC could come to agreement over a contract renewal soon, the actor could also very well choose to leave the drama behind or instead opt to be lowered from a series regular on The Walking Dead to recurring if Whiskey Cavalier is picked up to series

The Walking Dead returns February 25 at 9 p.m. on AMC. The show stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Lauren Cohan as Maggie Rhee, Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes, Danai Gurira as Michonne, Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, Lennie James as Morgan Jones, Alanna Masterson as Tara Chambler, Josh McDermitt as Eugene Porter, Christian Serratos as Rosita Espinosa and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan.
