EXCL Fear the Walking Deads Alicia & Nick Debate Value of Survival

In a CBR-exclusive scene from the next episode of Fear the Walking Dead, Alicia and Nick find themselves sharing a meal and debating the true value of life in a world overrun by the undead. While they don't come to a consensus opinion, Alicia does her best to absolve Nick of any sense of debt he may feel he owes her or their mother, in an effort to allow him to move forward with his own life.

The official synopsis for the episode, titled “El Matadero,” states: "Alicia encounters a potential ally. Ofelia fights for survival, while Nick uses his skillset for profit in the apocalypse." The episode airs Sunday, October 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

In the second half of “Fear the Walking Dead” season three, the Clarks and Ottos have secured an uneasy truce with the Nation. Former enemies must find a way to survive together. Tension mounts at Broke Jaw Ranch as their militia is decimated, resources are scarce and the Dead are encroaching. The Gonzalez Dam, a source of life, is a larger prize to the south. Strand has hit rock bottom and needs a partner to harness the world’s only currency if he is going to be resurrected. Meanwhile, Daniel has become el soldado again and bides his time in service to Lola and the dam, but hasn’t given up the ghost of Ofelia.

Fear the Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and is a production of Square Head Pictures created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson. The show stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Mercedes Mason, Lorenzo James Henrie, Rubén Blades, Colman Domingo, Michelle Ang, Danay Garcia, Daniel Sharman, Sam Underwood, Dayton Callie and Lisandra Tena.

Stephen Gerding has been a part of CBR for over fifteen years, starting as a part-time freelancer in 2005 and working his way up to his current role as Senior News Editor. Over the years, he's been involved in the site's multiple Eisner Award wins, wile helping to define its voice and visual look. He's also seen the site go through multiple changes, including the launch of the Eisner Award-winning Robot 6 blog, expanding from covering comics to all aspects of pop culture, and the biggest evolution when it transformed from Comic Book Resources to CBR. Stephen has been reading comics for as long as he's been, well, reading. After nearly a decade of stealing copies of classic comics by Kirby, Lee, Swan, Fox, Romita and more from his father's collection, his love of comics fully kicked in when he bought Avengers #232 from a spinner rack at Seven-Eleven. Eventually, when the opportunity arose to actually write about comics, it was a no-brainer. That he's still able to do so years later is a dream come true.
