AMC Eyes The Walking Dead for Significant Pricing Increases in Ad Revenue
AMC Networks CEO Josh Sapan revealed the network's plan to significantly increase the price for ad space during "The Walking Dead."

During the firm's first-quarter earnings call, AMC Networks CEO Josh Sapan revealed the network's plan to significantly increase the price for ad space during "The Walking Dead."
"We continue to see advertising pricing power for shows like 'The Walking Dead,' which attract large, engaged and desirable audiences," he explained. "While [costs per thousand viewers] in that show particularly have increased, its [value] as an ad vehicle has not been fully realized, and we think there is more pricing upside."

As such, the company will enact "significant pricing increases" for the show compared to last year, according to COO Ed Carroll. Considering this, CFO Sean Sullivan also believes the current second quarter will see a "significant" increase in ad revenue growth and expects the network to see the strongest year-over-year ad gain of the year.
According to Sapan, "Our horizon for the show is very long." The company's vision for the future of franchise also includes its other shows, including "Fear the Walking Dead" and "The Talking Dead."
AMC's "The Walking Dead" season six is scheduled to arrive on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on August 23.
