It looks like Hurricane Irma has achieved something that the cast of AMC's The Walking Dead have completely failed to do in seven seasons of the hit show - bring a halt the zombie apocalypse, if only temporarily.

According to Deadline, production on both AMC’s The Walking Dead, Avengers 4 and Ant-Man And The Wasp have been shuttered at the Pinewood Atlanta Studios as the state of Georgia weather's Irma's wind and rain.

In response to Irma's strong winds and torrential rains, Governor Nathan Deal recently expanded the declared state of emergency in Georgia to include all 159 of its counties. Amongst other things, this has effected production on various films and TV show, including Fox TV's X-Men spin off The Gifted and CBS Studios MacGyver, both of which are shot in Georgia.

Deadline's sources says the Pinewood Atlanta hopes to resume filming later on Tuesday or Wednesday, weather permitting. This short production hiatus should have little impact on the various productions schedules.

The Walking Dead is set to return to AMC for it’s eighth season on October 22, 2017. Directed by Peyton Reed Ant-Man and the Wasp is currently due to hit cinemas on July 6, 2018 with the as-yet untitled Avengers 4 expected to follow on May 3, 2019.
