Fear the Walking Dead This Weeks Opening Minutes Show Johns New Life

Season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead has shown how scattered and separated the main cast has become since Virginia captured them at the end of Season 5. They've had various reactions to their new jobs and lives, but for John Dorie in "The Key," everything seems almost fine.

The CBR exclusive clip below shows the first four minutes of Sunday's episode, which catches audiences up on what John has been up to in the 200 days since he was brought into Virginia's settlement. All seems relatively good for him, as he's taken up the badge for the first time since the apocalypse as a police officer inside Lawton, the Oklahoma-based capital of the Pioneers.

As John pens a letter to June, we see a typical day for him, which seems surprisingly pleasant. He exchanges smiling nods with members of the settlement, including fellow survivor Janis and even Virginia herself. "People deserved to live in a world where they know which way is up," he says, "But they can't do that unless someone shows them."

The clip sees him poke at an abscessed tooth before continuing on with his day, and he makes brief mention to June about the freedoms everyone in the settlement has given up in exchange for protection. It's more likely than not that John will soon discover, much like his tooth, something is rotten in the state of Oklahoma.
