Fear the Walking Dead Teases ANOTHER Crossover – Sort of
Fear the Walking Dead teases a possible crossover that could return two main characters back to Alexandria's gate in The Walking Dead.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead Season 6, Episode 13, "J.D.," which aired Sunday on AMC.
Fear the Walking Dead's "J.D." provides June with some closure for the late, great John Dorie by introducing his absent father, John Dorie Senior. While June and John Senior chase a lead regarding the doomsday cult, Sherry struggles with her demons. As Dwight tries to understand his former wife's peculiar behavior, she reveals a plan that sets the stage for another crossover with The Walking Dead.
Morgan shocked fans when leaving The Walking Dead only to pop up in Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead. In Season 5, while searching for Sherry, Dwight, a former Savior and Walking Dead regular, followed in Morgan's footsteps. Sherry also hailed from The Walking Dead, where she was also a Savior and one of Negan's "wives." Dwight and Sherry fell into Negan's clutches after trying to escape from the Sanctuary. Dwight was sentenced to death, but Sherry saved his life by offering herself to Negan as one of his wives. Later, Sherry successfully escapes and leaves Dwight a love letter at their former home, telling him to find her. When the Sanctuary falls, Dwight sets off on his search for Sherry, which is where Fear the Walking Dead picks up.

Dwight and Sherry's long-anticipated reunion is less than romantic. Despite Dwight's dedication to their love, Sherry feels she is a different person and wants to remain with the Outcasts, essentially dissolving their marriage. From that moment forward, their relationship remains strained but hospitable. This is also the case in "J.D." when Sherry tags along with Dwight to check on June.
However, Sherry's behavior is erratic. She seems on edge and like she's in a rush to go somewhere. When Dwight presses her on it, she dismisses him, saying she doesn't have time to explain. Later, while searching for June, Sherry pushes her horse too hard and runs it into the ground. Horrified, Dwight demands to know what's going on, which is when Sherry comes clean with her plan to head back East to kill Negan. "I need to take out the person who's really to blame for all of it. I'm going to find him, and I'm going to put a bullet in his head," Sherry says.

However, after empathizing with John Senior, Sherry seems to let go of her plan. She expresses her fear of missing out on her entire life and her relationship with Dwight by chasing after revenge. "I've been using Negan as an excuse for why we can't be together," she realizes. Now, it seems Sherry wants to leave the past behind and rekindle her relationship with Dwight.
Sherry might have abandoned her mission, but it doesn't mean that another crossover is entirely out of the question. As fans anticipate the eleventh and final season of The Walking Dead, Negan's fate remains unknown. While the former villain seems to have turned a new leaf, his freedom in Alexandria isn't secure, thanks to the many enemies he made over the years. Maggie is eager to see Negan dead. However, it's possible Fear the Walking Dead is foreshadowing a future crossover that could have Dwight and Sherry return to their Walking Dead roots.
Fear the Walking Dead stars Lennie James, Rubén Blades, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Maggie Grace, Garret Dillahunt, Jenna Elfman, Alexa Nisenson, Karen David, Austin Amelio, Mo Collins, Zoe Colletti and Christine Evangelista. New episodes air Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on AMC.
