Fear the Walking Dead Is a Zombified Wasteland in Season 7 Trailer

The Season 7 trailer for Fear the Walking Dead picks up after the detonation of nuclear warheads leaves the world devoid of light and hope.

All that's left of the Texas landscape is unbreathable air and an army of zombies in the Season 7 trailer for AMC's Fear the Walking Dead.

We begin the Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 trailer by following someone wearing a full hazmat suit with a gas mask covering their face. There's good reason to be wearing the mask, as the sky is filled with an orange hue following the detonation of nuclear warheads by Teddy (John Glover) in the Season 6 finale. The phrase "The End Is Nigh" is scribbled on a wall, which goes along with Teddy's new vision of the world. Of course, even in the apocalypse the zombies still run wild.

The unidentified gas mask wearer is finally revealed to be Morgan Jones (Lennie James). Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) tells Morgan that he's done listening to him. After trying things Morgan's way, the world isn't any better off. Victor is making a powerplay to squeeze Morgan out of a leadership role so he can rebuild the world himself. In a surprising move, Morgan actually agrees with Victor. But if Morgan promises that if Victor has hurt anyone he cares about, he'll be coming for payback.

Fear the Walking Dead returns Sunday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on AMC. All episodes will be available one week early on AMC+ beginning Oct. 10.
