Does This Walking Dead Image Tease the Whisperers
AMC debuts a new image, and a warning, that may be hauntingly familiar to readers of the "Walking Dead" comic book.
The upcoming seventh season of "The Walking Dead" is already highly anticipated, not only for the resolution of the Negan cliffhanger but also the introduction of "King" Ezekiel and his tiger Shiva. However, those may only be the beginning of the big reveals this season.
AMC on Saturday released a teaser image that has some fans wondering whether the murderous Whisperers may be arriving to the AMC series sooner rather than later.
You’ve been warned – #TWD premieres October 23.

Introduced in 2014 in "The Walking Dead" #130, by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard, the Whisperers are a group of survivors who disguises themselves with the skins of roamers to blend in with the undead hordes. Living in or near Washington, D.C., the brutal Whisperers are a significant threat in the comic books, where they kill the living instead of the walkers.

The photo, which depicts a head on a stake, is accompanied by the words, "You've been warned," echoing the group's actions in the comics.
If this indeed is a sign of the coming of the Whisperers -- they're named so because they speak in whispers -- it would seem the producers of the TV series are stacking the decks: Negan, Ezekiel and the Whisperers in one season? Of course, they could merely be dropping clues, paving the way for Season Eight's primary antagonist.
"The Walking Dead" returns Sunday, Oct. 23, on AMC.
